Jean-Hugues Anglade is a French actor and director. He was born in the small town of Tuareg and grew up there, but he decided to pursue a career in acting and moved to Paris. He spent several years studying at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts before making his debut in the film industry.

Anglade quickly found success in his third role, as the film "Diagonal of the Fool" won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. His subsequent roles in cult films such as Luc Besson's "Subway" and Jean-Jacques Beineix's "37°2 le matin" solidified his status as a beloved actor, especially among the youth.
