Early Career
Nolan made her film debut in 1948, in the movie "Macbeth," based on Shakespeare's play. Although the film and her performance received mostly positive reviews, she was often cast in supporting roles afterwards. Throughout her career, Nolan appeared in around 300 television roles. She had the opportunity to work in Brian Keith's first series, "Crusader," and Rod Cameron's project, "State Trooper." From 1959 to 1960, she played the role of Annette Deveraux in the CBS series "Hotel de Paree" alongside Earl Holliman, Judi Meredith, and Strother Martin. She also made appearances in episodes of "Perry Mason" and "Wagon Train," where her husband, John McIntire, also appeared.

Awards and Later Career
Nolan received four Emmy nominations throughout her career. In 1974, she starred with Dack Rambo in the CBS project "Dirty Sally," a spin-off of the popular western series "Gunsmoke." She also had a role in the short film "Peege" in 1972. In the mid-80s, she appeared in the series "Night Court" with Harry Anderson and in 1990, she worked with Judd Hirsch in the project "Dear John." She also made guest appearances in popular shows such as "Columbo" and "The Golden Girls."
Personal Life and Legacy
