Biography of Jennifer Figge
Early Life and Sports CareerJennifer Figge was born in 1952 in Davenport, Iowa. Her mother, Margherita Roberti, was a renowned opera singer, but Jennifer chose a different path in life. She grew up with a strong passion for sports, which she never let go of. From 1985 to 1995, she participated in seven marathons and five ultramarathons.

Living and Training in Aspen
Jennifer currently resides and trains in Aspen, Colorado. She has dedicated herself to staying physically fit and pushing her limits in the world of swimming.
The Atlantic Swim
In 2009, Jennifer gained significant media attention when it was mistakenly reported that she had swum across the Atlantic Ocean. Although the reports were inaccurate, Jennifer did achieve something remarkable. She swam approximately 4,000 kilometers in the open ocean, from Cape Verde Islands to Trinidad, over a span of 24 days. This distance remains a record for any woman.
The Pacific Swim Attempt
In December 2010, Jennifer attempted to swim from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, this attempt was not successful. However, Jennifer is determined and it is believed that she will make another record-breaking attempt in the near future.
Personal Life
Jennifer's son, Alex, has often accompanied his brave mother on her swimming adventures. She is also known to have had a beloved Alaskan Malamute named Hank, who lived to be 11 years old. Despite the challenges she faces, Jennifer Figge continues to defy the ocean and inspire others with her courage and determination.
