Early Career
Even as a student, Landon actively participated in local theater productions. She made her acting debut at the age of 5 when her father invited her to play a small role in one of the final episodes of the popular TV series 'Highway to Heaven'. Jennifer Landon followed in her father's footsteps and worked with him again portraying Jennifer Kramer in the pilot episode of the show 'Us'. Unfortunately, in 1991, Michael Landon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes and liver. He passed away just three months after the diagnosis.
Breakthrough Role
In 2004, Landon played a major role in the independent film 'L.A. DJ.'. In early 2005, she landed the role of Gwen Norbeck in the soap opera 'As the World Turns'. Initially, her character was only supposed to appear in one episode, but Jennifer's portrayal was so captivating that the producers decided to expand her character. Landon signed a three-year contract, and her character, Gwen Norbeck, became the step-sister of one of the main characters, Carly Tenney.
Music Career
Alongside her acting career, Landon actively pursued a music career. Her character Gwen Norbeck was a musician and lead vocalist of a girl group in the series. Jennifer had to perform several musical numbers during the show's run. In late 2006, Gwen Norbeck took her music career seriously and even recorded two singles, 'Slide' and 'I Saw Love'. The songs were written by New York-based singer and poet Nini Camps and were released under Jennifer Landon's name. Both singles are still available on iTunes.
Later Career
In April 2007, Landon played two roles in 'As the World Turns' - the well-known character Gwen Norbeck and a character named Cleo Babbit, who closely resembled Gwen. However, the character Cleo Babbit was written out of the script on June 10, 2007. In 2008, Gwen Norbeck was also written out of the storyline. Jennifer Landon made a brief return to the show in September 2010 for its final two weeks. In 2010, she starred alongside Jennifer Aniston and Pam Tillis in the musical 'The Goree Girls'.
