Early Life and Career
Jenny Rissveds is a Swedish cross-country mountain biker. She rose to fame in 2016 when she won the gold medal in women's cross-country at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Prior to that, Rissveds had already won a gold medal in the U23 women's mountain bike race at the World Championships in 2016.
Absa Cape Epic Victory
In 2017, Rissveds made history when she competed in the eight-day Absa Cape Epic in South Africa. Partnering with manager Thomas Frischknecht, they emerged victorious in the mixed category, conquering the grueling 641-kilometer course.
Mental Health and Comeback
Rissveds took a break from racing for most of 2017 and 2018 due to mental health struggles. In July 2017, she was awarded the Victoria Scholarship to support her recovery.
Return to Form
On August 11, 2019, Rissveds celebrated her first World Cup victory since her Olympic gold in 2016, winning the World Cup event in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. Her impressive form continued at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where she claimed a bronze medal, adding to her impressive collection of accolades.
