Childhood and Early Life
Lina Khoudri, a French-Algerian actress, was born on October 3, 1992, in Algeria. Her mother was a violin teacher and her father was a politically active journalist. In 1994, the family was forced to move to France to escape the Algerian Civil War. Khoudri developed a social consciousness at a young age, influenced by protests and readings about Algeria's history and decolonization.
Education and Acting Beginnings
Khoudri studied acting at the National Theatre of La Colline. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in performing arts, she joined the National Theatre of Strasbourg. She left the theater to star in Sofia Djama's film "Les Bienheureux," for which she won the Orizzonti Award for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival.
Film Career
Khoudri made her film debut in 2014 in an episode of the television series "Joséphine, Ange Gardien." Her breakthrough role came in the 2016 film "Polina," where she played a young dancer.
