Early Life and Youth Career
Jesse Lingard was born in Warrington, England on December 15, 1992. He began his football journey at the age of seven when he joined the Manchester United Academy.
Manchester United Breakthrough
Lingard made his way through the United ranks, impressing at various youth levels. He was part of the team that won the FA Youth Cup in the 2010/11 season. In the summer of 2011, he signed his first professional contract with the club.
Loan Spells
In November 2012, Lingard joined Leicester City on loan. He made his Leicester debut the same day and remained with the club for a short period. After preseason with Manchester United in 2013, he was loaned to Championship club Birmingham City. He made a remarkable debut, scoring four goals in his first match.
Premier League Debut and Brighton Loan
In February 2014, Lingard moved to Brighton & Hove Albion on loan. He scored his first goal for the club against Leicester City. Lingard returned to Manchester United and made his Premier League debut in August 2014, but was forced off with an injury in the first half.
Derby Loan and Manchester United Breakthrough
Lingard joined Derby County on loan in February 2015. After a successful spell at Derby, he returned to Manchester United and gradually became a regular under manager Louis van Gaal. He scored his first Premier League goal for United in November 2015.
Cup Success and International Debut
Lingard played a key role in Manchester United's 2015/16 FA Cup triumph, scoring the winning goal in the final against Crystal Palace. He also scored a memorable solo goal in the 2016 FA Community Shield. Lingard made his senior England debut in October 2016.
