Jesse Plemons is an American film and television actor who was born on April 2, 1988. He gained popularity for his role in the NBC film "Friday Night Lights".

Early Career

After appearing in films such as "Varsity Blues" and "All the Pretty Horses", as well as occasional roles in TV shows like "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch", Plemons landed his first significant role in the 2002 film "Like Mike". He starred alongside Bow Wow and Jonathan Lipnicki in this movie.

Rise to Fame

From 2003 to 2006, Plemons appeared in films such as "Children on Their Birthdays" and "When Zachary Beaver Came to Town", as well as TV series including "Judging Amy", "The Lyon's Den", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", and "Grey's Anatomy". In 2006, he landed a role in the TV movie "Friday Night Lights", which revolves around a high school football team in Dillon, Texas. In the first season, Plemons' character, Landry Clarke, helps his best friend, quarterback Matt Saracen, despite not being a member of the team. There was a joke on set that Plemons was actually the best football player among the actors, even though his character was not a football player. In the second season, Landry joins the football team, and Plemons, who played football in high school, insisted on doing his own stunts.

Personal Life

Plemons grew up in Mart, Texas, and recently settled in Austin. In 2007, he graduated from Texas Tech University. He completed his education through a distance learning program and earned a real diploma. Plemons enjoys reading, with some of his favorite books being "To the Actor" by Mikhail Chekhov, "Building a Character" by Constantin Stanislavski, and "Lonesome Dove" by Larry McMurtry. His favorite movies include "On the Waterfront", "Waiting for Guffman", and "Lonesome Dove". Plemons is also passionate about music and plays the guitar in his free time. Some of his favorite songs are "Love in Vain" by Robert Johnson, "The Light" by Common, and "Carolina in My Mind" by James Taylor.
