Biography of Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is an American singer, actress, television host, and designer. She began her musical career at the age of 12, singing in a church choir. One summer, at a church camp, her voice caught the attention of the owner of a small CCM record label. Despite working on her debut album for three years, it was never released as the label ceased to exist. However, thanks to her father, Jessica Simpson still gained recognition. She toured with the Christian Youth Conference choir and shared the stage with Kirk Franklin and CeCe Winans. After their performances, she and her father sold copies of her album. Rumors of her talent quickly spread, and her albums were in high demand. Both church music lovers and pop music fans were captivated by her voice. Her fame reached the renowned owner of Columbia Records/Sony Music, Tommy Mottola. Simpson signed a contract with the label. However, before her album was released, she toured with the group 98 Degrees as their opening act. In 1999, her album "Sweet Kisses" was released, and the single "I Wanna Love You Forever" enjoyed enormous success. The album reached the 25th position on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over 2 million copies in the US. The song "I Wanna Love You Forever" made it into the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the top ten in Canada, the UK, and Northern Ireland. Her next studio album, "Irresistible," was released in the summer of 2001. The album achieved decent positions on the Billboard 200 chart as well as the Canadian album charts. However, sales were poor, and the album only recently went gold in America. In between her second and third albums, the blonde beauty released a remix collection titled "This Is The Remix." On October 26, 2002, Jessica Simpson married Nick Lachey, a member of the group 98 Degrees. They were then invited to star in the popular reality show "Newlyweds" on MTV. The show lasted for three years and gained immense popularity. Jessica released her third studio album, "In This Skin," in August 2003. In the spring of 2004, Simpson re-recorded "In This Skin," and the album reached the 2nd position on the Billboard 200 and entered the top 40 in the UK charts. The album sold over 3 million copies in the US, and the singles "With You" and "Take My Breath Away" became hits. In addition to recording albums, Jessica Simpson launched her own cosmetic line called Dessert and released a Christmas song compilation album titled "Re-joyce: The Christmas Album." Recently, Jessica made her debut in the movie "The Dukes of Hazzard," a comedy-adventure film, which premiered in August 2005. Simpson also performed the soundtrack for the movie with her rendition of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'."
