Biography of Jessie Jacobs
Jessie Jacobs was an Australian actress and singer who gained fame for her roles in several Australian children's TV series, including "Worst Best Friends," "The Saddle Club," "Fergus McPhail," and "Holly's Heroes."
Early Life and Career
Jessie Jacobs was born on November 14, 1990, in Canberra, Australia. She began performing on stage as a child and showed a talent for acting and singing from a young age. She had three brothers: Adam (born in 1984), Seth (1994), and Charlie (2006). At the age of six, she started learning to play the violin and took classical ballet lessons.
She made her debut in the musical "The Sound of Music" alongside Lisa McCune and Australian TV veteran Bert Newton. Jessie took a break from filming a few months before her tragic death to focus on school and music. She planned to attend the Victorian College of the Arts, part of the University of Melbourne, to study bass guitar and establish herself as a musician. She was in her final year of high school, with just six months left before receiving her high school diploma.
Musical Career and Personal Life
In addition to her acting career, Jessie played bass guitar in the rock band "The Volten Sins." She also contributed to the soundtrack of "The Saddle Club," recording the songs "Friends Forever" and "Princess Veronica Tour EP" with Janelle Corlass-Brown. In 2003, Jacobs and Corlass-Brown released a single titled "Trouble" under the names of their characters in the series – Ashley and Melanie.
Surprisingly, Jessie also worked at a local bakery alongside her artistic pursuits. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church community in St. Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne.
Tragic Death
On May 10, 2008, Jessie tragically passed away at the age of 17. She had made plans to meet her mother to choose a birthday gift for her brother Adam. While walking along the platform at Cheltenham station, she stumbled and fell onto the tracks, where she was struck by a moving train. She died instantly from the injuries sustained. It took several hours for the police to locate her family as Jessie had a fake identification with her at the time of the accident.
Jessie was buried at a cemetery in St. Kilda, Victoria. Her brother Adam created a memorial video in her honor, which he shared on YouTube.
