Biography of Jesús (Chuy) Aceves
Born in Loreto, Zacatecas, Mexico, Jesús Aceves is a man who suffers from a rare hair abnormality known as hypertrichosis. He is the second person in his family to have this unique characteristic, with his face covered in hair, making him resemble the legendary Wolfman, or as some call him, the Monkey Man.
Family and Personal Life
Jesús Aceves is married and has two daughters, one of whom also possesses this "feature". His sister, Lily, was also born with this condition. She is married, has a son, and works in the police force in Mexico City. Many in his family believe that they are descendants of Julia Pastrana, the "ape woman".
Breaking Stereotypes
In 2005, Aceves shaved for the first time for the BBC documentary "It's Not Easy Being a Wolf Boy". He hoped that by shaving, he would be able to find a stable job close to home and avoid leaving his family for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, the pay from his permanent job was not as good as what he could earn by performing in freak shows or circuses.
Currently, Chuy works behind the scenes at the Vargas Circus. In 2007, he was featured in Ripley's Believe It or Not! and the Guinness World Records book.
Overall, Jesús Aceves has faced many challenges due to his condition, but he continues to break stereotypes and provide for his family, all while embracing his uniqueness.
