James Humble: The Controversial Entrepreneur, Religious Leader, and Pioneer of MMS

Early Life and Career

James Humble was born in the United States and has lived a multifaceted life. In the 1950s, he managed a health food store in Los Angeles. He claims to have subsequently worked in the aerospace industry for two decades.

Humble also asserts having spent four decades as a gold prospector. He has authored over 30 books and claims to have developed over 200 successful products, including an alchemical method to reduce nuclear radiation to zero.

Occult Healer and Visionary

Humble identifies himself as a god from the Andromeda galaxy and recounts encounters with extraterrestrials who implanted him with secret knowledge. He promotes occult healing methods, such as touch-healing.

Pioneer of Miracle Mineral Supplement

Humble is renowned as the inventor of Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS), which he claims cures almost any disease. In 1996, he allegedly healed malaria in Guyana using water purification drops containing sodium chlorite. Upon returning to the US, he experimented with chlorine dioxide, later known as MMS.

Humble sees MMS as a revolutionary discovery that will liberate humanity from its prison planet and usher in an era of peace. However, MMS is a toxic chemical composed of chlorine dioxide, primarily used for bleaching purposes. It has been banned in many countries due to health concerns.

Genesis II Church

Humble was an active member of Scientology for 25 years. In 2010, he founded Genesis II, Church of Health & Healing, where he was known as Archbishop James V. Humble. He later passed on leadership to Mark Grenon, who was arrested in Colombia in 2020 for distributing MMS, the church's central product.

Genesis II has faced arrests related to MMS in the US as well. In 2016, the church claimed to have 286 local churches, 2,328 members, 1,640 ministers of health, and 90 bishops.

In Germany

Humble's MMS-related activities extend to Germany. The Spirit of Health website and magazine, serving the German-speaking market, are operated by Humble Verlag in Roermond, Netherlands. The publisher organizes Spirit of Health conferences where Humble promotes MMS as a miraculous cure.

Notable German MMS proponents include Andreas Ludwig Kalcker, former director of Humble Verlag, and the late Leo Koehof. According to an investigation by Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, Kalcker advised a (fake) bowel cancer patient to delay surgery and treat the illness with MMS during a paid consultation.
