Jimmy Degrasso: A Journey in Rhythm
Jimmy Degrasso, an American drummer, was born on March 16, 1963, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school in 1981, he pursued his passion for music.
Versatility and Collaboration
Degrasso has collaborated with an impressive array of artists, including Lita Ford, Ozzy Osbourne, White Lion, Suicidal Tendencies, and Y&T. He was briefly a member of the thrash metal band Megadeth.
Joining Megadeth
In 1998, Dave Mustaine invited Degrasso to join Megadeth just five days before a tour. Despite the short notice, Degrasso used a Sony Walkman to memorize the setlist. He contributed to two studio albums (Risk, The World Needs a Hero) and one live album (Rude Awakening).
Post-Megadeth Career
After leaving Megadeth, Degrasso participated in prestigious drumming festivals, including the Modern Drummer Festival, Ultimate Drummers Weekend, and Drummer Live. He also toured with Stone Sour and guitarist Ronnie Montrose.
San Jose Pro Drum
Currently residing in San Jose, California, Degrasso opened his own drum shop, San Jose Pro Drum.
Current Collaborations
Degrasso recently performed with Alice Cooper, filling in for Eric Singer. He is also a drummer for the bands F5 and Hail, the latter featuring Megadeth bassist David Ellefson.
