Biography of Joaquin Guzman Loera

Joaquin Guzman Loera, also known as El Chapo, is a Mexican drug lord, billionaire, and the most powerful drug trafficker in the world according to current information. Born in 1954 (or possibly 1957) in La Tuna, Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico, Guzman grew up in extreme poverty. Tired of living in hardship, he turned to the more profitable business of drug trafficking, abandoning his previous job selling oranges.

In the 1980s, El Chapo worked with the "Godfather" Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo and was considered his apprentice. After Gallardo's arrest, Guzman broke up the Sinaloa Cartel and became the leader of his own organization. In 1993, El Chapo was captured and sentenced to 20 years in prison, but in 2001, he managed to escape by hiding in a laundry van. It was rumored that he had to bribe numerous people, including prison staff, to successfully carry out his escape.

Today, the Sinaloa Cartel is one of the main drug suppliers to the United States. In 2011, Forbes estimated Guzman's net worth to be around $1 billion, making him one of the richest Mexicans. Furthermore, his influence is believed to have surpassed that of the notorious Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Despite the arrest of several members of Guzman's family, his capture has remained elusive.

Guzman has been married twice. His first wife was Alejandrina María Salazar Hernández, with whom he had three children before separating. He later married Griselda López Pérez, with whom he had four more children. It is known that his sons are also involved in the drug business, with one of them, Iván Archivaldo, spending time in prison from 2005 to 2008 before being released due to lack of evidence.

El Chapo continues to evade global law enforcement and supplies drugs not only to America but also to the rest of the interested world. He is believed to be living in the mountains of western Mexico. Recently, his name has been directly linked to the high level of crime in Chicago. The fact that all drugs in the third-largest city in the United States are supplied by El Chapo has caused territorial fights between street gangs, leading to an increase in homicides. As a result, Joaquin Guzman Loera has been officially declared Public Enemy Number One by the Chicago law enforcement system.
