Joe (Joseph) Pesci was born in Newark, New Jersey, USA. He began his career in the 1950s on television, then performed comedy routines and songs in clubs. Pesci made his film debut in 1975 in the low-budget movie "Death Collector" (1975), where he caught the attention of Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese, who offered him the role of Jake La Motta's brother in "Raging Bull" (1980).
