Solo Career

After the group disbanded in 1994, Joey focused on songwriting and sought opportunities to sign a contract for a solo album. Frustrated by the rejection from record labels, he used his own funds to record his first solo album, 'Stay the Same', and released it online. With the support of Boston radio DJs, Joey convinced them to play his first single 'Stay the Same', which eventually became a national hit. In 1999, he signed a contract with Sony Music, and the album 'Stay the Same' was reissued and sold over a million copies worldwide. In 2001, Joey released his second solo album, 'Meet Joe Mac', but it did not replicate the success of his previous project.
