Biography of John Corbett

John Joseph Corbett Jr., an American actor, was born in 1961 in Wheeling, West Virginia. After graduating from Wheeling Central Catholic High School, he moved to California where he worked as a steelworker in a factory. Despite his physical strength, standing at 196 cm tall, Corbett suffered a back injury from the demanding physical labor. During this time, he enrolled in Cerritos College in California, joining a drama class taught by a long-time acquaintance. Corbett's talent was noticed during his studies, and with encouragement from his teachers, he decided to pursue a career in Hollywood.

Struggles and Breakthrough

However, Hollywood did not warmly welcome the aspiring actor. Prior to landing commercial roles, Corbett had to work in various non-acting jobs. It was only after shooting dozens of commercials that he finally caught the attention of television audiences. In 1988, he made his acting debut in the teen series "The Wonder Years." This marked the beginning of Corbett's television career. His next major role came in 1990 when he portrayed Chris Stevens in the highly popular series "Northern Exposure." In 1991, he made his film debut in John Milius' war action film "Flight of the Intruder." He went on to appear in other notable films such as George P. In 2009, Corbett starred in three films, including the romantic comedy-drama "I Hate Valentine's Day," where he had the lead role.
