Biography of Joey Lansing

Joey Lansing was an American actress, fashion model, and singer. She began her career in the late 1940s and appeared in approximately 70 roles in films and television series. She was born on April 6, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Her parents were Jack Glenn Brown, a shoe salesman, and Grace Shupe Brown, a homemaker.

Early Life and Modeling Career

Joey Lansing started her modeling career as a teenager and at the age of 14, she signed a contract with MGM. During this time, she was known by the name Joyce Wossmansdorff, taking her stepfather's surname.

Acting Career

Lansing made her debut in the film industry in the late 1940s and went on to play a variety of roles in films and television series. She developed a successful acting career, portraying diverse characters in different genres.

Solo Career and Personal Life

In the early 1960s, Lansing embarked on a solo career, exploring her talents as a singer. She also had a colorful personal life, being married multiple times. From March to November 1950, she was married to Jerome Safron, but their marriage was annulled. Then, from 1951 to 1953, she was married to actor Lance Fuller. Finally, from August 5, 1960, until her death, she was married to Stan Todd.

Death

Joey Lansing passed away at the age of 43 on August 7, 1972, from breast cancer. She was hospitalized at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, where she was scheduled to undergo surgery. Unfortunately, her illness overcame her before the operation could take place.
