Jonathan Brandis: Biography of an American Actor
Jonathan Brandis, an American actor who was once an idol for a huge number of fans, tragically took his own life in the fall of 2003. Brandis was born on April 13, 1976, in Connecticut, and was the only child of Mary, a teacher, and Gregory, a firefighter and distributor of food products.

At the young age of six, Brandis showcased his talents by appearing in a commercial radio broadcast and on television as a model, already being initiated into the secrets of show business. When he turned nine, his family moved to Los Angeles to make it easier for the young boy to pursue a career in the industry.

Brandis got his first major role in the film "The NeverEnding Story II". After that, he appeared in numerous other projects, mostly on television. He also had a role in the film adaptation of Stephen King's "It" and starred in the famous sci-fi series "seaQuest DSV" by Steven Spielberg. Soon, Brandis became a teenage idol, not only acting prolifically but also writing his own screenplays. In his later years, writing became his main interest.
The sudden death of the young and talented actor shocked his fans. On November 12, 2003, Brandis attempted suicide, as confirmed by the Los Angeles police and paramedics who transported him to a medical center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Although there was no suicide note, his closest friends claimed that his last days were extremely difficult. He was struggling with depression and alcoholism and may have wished to leave this world.
Despite his short life, Jonathan Brandis left behind a remarkable body of work and a devoted fan base who still remember him. Fans create memorial websites where they regularly share their impressions and memories of the actor.
