Biography of Jorge Arteaga

Jorge Arteaga, a Mexican race car driver, currently competes in the NASCAR Corona series. He drives a 'Toyota Camry' with the number '8' in the K&N Pro Series East.

Early Life and Career

Jorge Arteaga was born on March 28, 1986, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He made his entry into the NASCAR Corona series after impressing in the semi-professional NASCAR Mexico T4 series at the young age of 20. In 2008, Arteaga became a participant in the newly created NASCAR Corona series following a successful season. His best season in the series was in 2009 when he finished 14th overall, with several top-ten finishes.

Success in the United States

In 2010, Arteaga started his season strongly, finishing in the top ten three times in the first five races. In July of the same year, he made his debut in the NASCAR race in the United States at the Lee USA Speedway, where he reached the 6th position before an accident pushed him down to 10th place. Arteaga competed in the full season of the K&N Pro Series East in 2012, driving a 'Toyota Camry' for the 'Revolution Racing' team. Despite missing one race, he managed to finish 14th in the standings, with two top-ten finishes out of thirteen starts.

Recognition and Philanthropy

Arteaga was voted the "Most Popular Driver" in the NASCAR Mexico series in 2009 by fans, receiving 34% of the votes. He raced alongside experienced NASCAR driver Carlos Contreras in the FCV Racing events, becoming the first Spanish-speaking driver to be admitted to NASCAR. Arteaga earned his first pole position in 2010 during the qualifying session in Aguascalientes.

In 2010, Arteaga also participated in the NASCAR Mexico 24/7 reality show, which was broadcasted on Speed TV in Latin America. In addition to his racing career, Arteaga established the 'Equipo Nutricion' (The Nutrition Team) foundation with the support of partners like 'Red Baron'. The foundation provides support to poor and underprivileged Mexicans. After each race, Arteaga collaborates with local authorities and organizations to donate approximately 12 tons of frozen vegetables. He has pledged to increase this contribution to 22 tons for each victory. In the 2009 season alone, Arteaga donated 190 tons of frozen vegetables. He also directs his funds towards raising awareness about malnutrition and obesity through school lectures. Arteaga has been crowned the "Most Popular Driver" in the Mexican racing series three times, from 2009 to 2011.
