Joseph Lawrence, also known as Joseph Mignogna Jr., was born in 1976 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From a young age, he showed an interest in acting, starting his acting career at the age of six with his first role in the television series "Gimme a Break!". Even earlier, at the age of three, Joseph appeared in commercials, experiencing his first taste of fame. His invitation to the popular show "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" solidified his and his parents' decision to pursue an acting career.
As Joseph grew older, he became more confident in front of the camera, gaining recognition for his intelligence and talent. At the age of seven, he portrayed a significant character in Ron Howard's TV film "Littleshots". In 1985, Joseph played the role of Bobby Chester in the adventure comedy "Summer Rental" directed by Carl Reiner. In 1988, at the age of twelve, he landed the lead role in the science fiction thriller "Pulse" directed by Paul Golding. His character, eleven-year-old David, goes on vacation to California with his father and stepmother, only to experience strange happenings in their house.
