Early Life and Education
Joost Stradowski, a Dutch actor and model, was born on January 29, 1995, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Of Dutch and Polish descent, he attended the Amsterdam School of Arts and later trained for four years at the Hofplein Youth Theater in Rotterdam. In 2008, he completed a pre-dance course at Codarts.
Acting Career
Stradowski began his acting journey as a child in Frank van Laecke's theatrical production of "Kuifje: De Zonnetempel." He went on to perform in musicals such as "The Sound of Music" and "Ciske de Rat." In 2011, he made his screen debut in the television series "Naranjina en de kadettes," playing Freddie.
Film and Television Roles
In 2013, he landed his first starring role as Niels in the short film "Special." He then appeared in the anthology film "Boys on Film 13: Trick & Treat." In 2017, Stradowski played the titular role in the stage play "Gender."
In 2018, he starred in Annemarie van de Mond's independent feature film "Just Friends." For his performance as the reserved Joris, he received recognition at international film festivals. In 2019, he appeared in the thriller "Instinct" alongside Carice van Houten.
Breakthrough Role in "The Wheel of Time"
Stradowski's career took a significant turn when he was cast as Rand al'Thor in the Amazon Prime Video series "The Wheel of Time," based on Robert Jordan's epic fantasy novels. The world premiere took place on November 17, 2021.
