Josip Glasnović: Croatian Shooting Legend
Early Life and FamilyJosip Glasnović was born in Zagreb, Croatia, to renowned marksman and coach Franko Glasnović. His older brother, Anton, is also a distinguished shooter who competed in the London Olympics.

Youth and Early Success
Glasnović's first major achievement came in 2000, when he secured third place in the double trap event at the European Junior Championships in Italy. This triumph propelled him further, leading him to a bronze medal in the double trap team event at the 2005 World Shooting Championships.

International Accolades
In 2007, Glasnović claimed his first individual medal at the European Championships, finishing third in Granada, Spain. He made his Olympic debut in Beijing in 2008, reaching the final round, where he narrowly missed a podium finish after finishing fifth in a shootout.
Redemption and Triumph
Despite failing to qualify for the London Olympics, Glasnović rebounded in 2013 by becoming the European champion in both individual and team competitions. At the Rio Olympics in 2016, he dominated the qualification round, finishing in a tie for second place. After a flawless performance in the semifinals, he faced legendary Italian marksman Giovanni Pellielo in the final. In a thrilling shootout, Glasnović prevailed, winning Croatia's second consecutive Olympic gold medal in shooting.
