Early Days in SplitCroatian football icon, Robert Prosinečki, began his professional career in 1987 with HNK Hajduk Split. His exceptional midfield skills quickly caught the attention of both domestic and international clubs.
Shifting Loyalties: From Hajduk to Croatia
In 1991, Prosinečki made a controversial move to Hajduk's fierce rivals, GNK Croatia Zagreb (now known as Dinamo Zagreb). This bold transfer sparked intense debate and fueled the longstanding rivalry between the two clubs.
Beyond Croatian Borders
Following his stint in Zagreb, Prosinečki sought challenges abroad. He joined Sevilla FC in Spain, where he showcased his brilliance in La Liga. However, his heart remained in Croatia, and he eventually returned to GNK Croatia Zagreb.
A Korean Chapter
Prosinečki's career took another unexpected turn when he signed for Pohang Steelers in South Korea. During his time in the K-League, he became a fan favorite with his exceptional playmaking abilities.
Homecoming to Zagreb
In his twilight years, Prosinečki returned to his home city of Zagreb. He played for NK Zagreb, where he retired in 2002 after a distinguished career spanning 15 seasons.
