Early Life and Career

Born in the Colonia department, Juan Carlos González began his football journey at age 12 with local team Peñarol Colonia. In 1943, he joined the third division of Montevideo's Peñarol and promptly led the team to a championship. The following year, he replicated his success at the second division level.

Debut and Championship Glory

In 1945, González made his debut for Peñarol's first team and immediately became a champion, helping the club win the Uruguayan championship. His entire career would subsequently be intertwined with the "Black and Yellow" club.

World Cup Victory

In 1950, González played a pivotal role in Uruguay's historic World Cup triumph. As a left half-back, he started the tournament's first two matches but was replaced by Schubert Gambetta for the remaining two matches, including the iconic "Maracanazo" final. Despite limited playing time, González became a World Cup champion.

International Career

González's international career spanned from 1950 to 1952. He represented Uruguay in several matches, including the World Cup qualifying campaign and the Copa América.
