Juan LaPorte is a Puerto Rican professional boxer who competed in the super featherweight division. He was born on June 8, 1959, in Guayama, Puerto Rico.

Early Life and Career

LaPorte discovered his passion for boxing at a young age and began his amateur career in Puerto Rico. He quickly gained recognition for his skills and determination in the ring, and in 1978, he turned professional.

World Boxing Council Featherweight Champion

In 1982, LaPorte earned his shot at the World Boxing Council (WBC) Featherweight Championship. He faced the reigning champion, Eusebio Pedroza, in a highly anticipated bout. LaPorte showcased his incredible boxing prowess and defeated Pedroza, becoming the new WBC Featherweight Champion.
