Early Life and Career

World Boxing Council Featherweight Champion

In 1982, LaPorte earned his shot at the World Boxing Council (WBC) Featherweight Championship. He faced the reigning champion, Eusebio Pedroza, in a highly anticipated bout. LaPorte showcased his incredible boxing prowess and defeated Pedroza, becoming the new WBC Featherweight Champion.
