Biography of Juliette Bergmann

Juliette Maria Suzanna Bergmann, a famous Dutch female bodybuilder, was born in 1958 in Vlaardingen, Netherlands. Her mother was Dutch, while her father had Indonesian roots. Tragedy struck Juliette's childhood when two of her brothers died in an accident, leaving her to become the main support for her grieving mother. This experience taught her discipline and responsibility at a young age.

After completing school, Juliette began studying management, finance, and journalism. During this time, she developed a growing interest in fitness and started actively engaging in it. In 1975, Juliette got married, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1985. In 1981, she first ventured into bodybuilding as a means to lose weight. Gradually, she started building her muscles and by 1983, she had achieved a good physique. In 1982, she participated in a contest in the Dutch city of Randstad and won first place and the title of "Ms. Randstad." Her success sparked even more interest in bodybuilding, leading Juliette to train more intensely. By 1983, she had become a participant or winner in many competitions in her homeland.

In 1985, Juliette's victory at the national championships paved the way for her international career. She won the European championship and the World Amateur Championships. The same year, she made her first appearance at the prestigious Ms. Olympia competition, where she placed 15th. This marked the beginning of her pursuit to become Ms. Olympia. By this time, Juliette was already competing as a professional under the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB).

In 1986, Juliette became the best professional female bodybuilder by winning the Pro World Championship. That same year, she achieved an impressive second place at the highly prestigious Ms. International contest. Over the following years, Juliette's ranking at IFBB Ms. Olympia steadily improved, placing 6th in 1986 and 9th in 1987. She finally achieved her goal of becoming Ms. Olympia in 2001. She held this title for two consecutive years and was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 2009.

Interestingly, Juliette Bergmann was once referred to as the "Grecian Ideal" due to her biceps, calves, neck, waist, and hips resembling the classical Greek standards of beauty.
