Justine Greening: A Political Journey

Early Life and Education

Justine Greening was born in Rotherham and attended Oakwood High School. She went on to study at the University of Southampton and the London Business School.

Parliamentary Career

2005: A Conservative Surprise

In 2005, Greening made headlines when she won the Putney constituency in London for the Conservative Party, defeating millionaire Labour candidate Tony Coleman. Her triumph marked a shift towards a more approachable image for Conservatives.

Ministerial Roles

Following her election, Greening served in various ministerial positions. She was appointed Economic Secretary to the Treasury in 2010 and later became Secretary of State for Transport in 2011.
