Biography of Kann Trichan
Kann Trichan, a Thai chef, holds a world record that is documented in the Guinness Book of World Records. In just one minute, he was able to retrieve 20 pieces of chicken from oil heated to 480 degrees. Trichan's wife and children are amazed by his work and never tire of watching him in action. However, it is advised not to attempt this at home, as Trichan submerges his fingers directly into boiling oil to cook his meals.

Remarkably, the 50-year-old record holder does not suffer any blisters or burns from his cooking technique. According to Trichan, when he dips his hands into the oil, he feels the heat but experiences no pain, and the scorching oil does not harm his skin. He can fry rice, chicken, and anything else with his bare hands.

Trichan discovered his incredible ability seven years ago when he accidentally spilled boiling oil on himself and did not sustain any burns. He was working behind his counter, cooking chicken, when he noticed a squirrel eating a mango and struggling to stay on a tree branch. The mango slipped from the weak paws of the squirrel and fell directly into a large wok filled with hot oil. Trichan was standing nearby, and the oil splashed onto his head and hands. The injuries were expected to be severe, but when Trichan looked at himself in the mirror, he saw no blisters or red spots. There was not even any redness. Much to the surprise of his market colleagues, he returned to work the next day.
Trichan laughs now, recalling how they could not believe that he had returned to his stove so quickly, and everyone wanted to see the man who had showered in boiling oil and remained unharmed. This prompted Trichan to experiment further, and he began pulling pieces of fried chicken out of the wok with his bare fingers, attracting crowds of people who had never seen anything like it. Everyone wanted a portion of his magical dish.
Over the past seven years, Trichan has become an international sensation, traveling the world with his 45-year-old wife, Tuan, showcasing his incredible abilities. His children, 34-year-old daughter Supalak and 27-year-old son Jessada, are proud of their father. Trichan himself does not know how he is able to do what he does, but he has learned to capitalize on his talent. Visitors flock to his stall, both locals and tourists alike. If you ever find yourself in Thailand, look for Trichan's stall just behind Chiang Mai Technical College, approximately 700 kilometers north of Bangkok.
