Karel Groeneveld, a Dutch football pioneer, was born in 1884. His footballing journey began with the club HBS, where he made his debut in 1901 at the age of 17. For over two decades, Groeneveld dedicated his career to HBS, playing until he was nearly 40 years old. During his tenure, the club enjoyed two championship titles.

International Appearances

Beyond his club career, Groeneveld had the honor of representing the Netherlands national team. He made his debut in 1905 in the first ever international match for the Netherlands, against Belgium. The match ended with a triumphant 4-1 victory for the Dutch. Groeneveld played in a total of two friendly matches for his country.
