Early Life and EducationKarine Arabian was born in France and developed a passion for fashion at a young age. She received formal training at the prestigious Esmod fashion school and later at Studio Bercot.
Career Beginnings
After completing her education, Arabian worked as an assistant to Mario Chané and as a fashion consultant. She also designed theatrical costumes. Inspired by a chance encounter with loose pearls at a flea market, she decided to pursue jewelry making and honed her skills in weaving, embroidery, and welding.
Breakthrough and Success
In 1993, Arabian showcased her first collection at the Hyères International Fashion Festival. Her unique aesthetic and innovative use of materials gained immediate recognition. Major retailers, including Maria Luisa in Paris, Henri Bendel in New York, and Kashiyama in Tokyo, signed contracts with her.
Collaboration and Brand Establishment
From 1994 to 1998, Arabian served as a designer for Daniel Swaroski. In 1996, she began designing accessories for Chanel. In 1999, she decided to establish her own brand, Karine Arabian.
Signature Style
Arabian's style is characterized by its eclectic nature and seamless integration of disparate elements. She fuses traditional jewelry techniques with modern fashion trends, creating accessories that blur the boundaries between adornment and clothing.
