Early Life and Education
Karlis Sebris was born on February 18, 1914, in the village of Sinola, Latvia. He attended the Lizums Primary School and graduated from the Cesvaine State Secondary School in 1932. In 1938, he completed the Latvian Dramatic Courses of Zelmatis.
Stage Career
In 1938, Sebris joined the Latvian National Theatre, where he remained for the rest of his life. He played over 200 roles on its stage, making him one of the most iconic actors in Latvian theatre history.
Film Debut
Sebris made his film debut in 1940 with a small role in V. Pucis's "The Kagura Revolt." He went on to appear in numerous films throughout his career, leaving a lasting impression on Latvian cinema.
Awards and Honors
Sebris received many accolades for his contributions to the arts. He was awarded the following honors:
