Biography of Pietro Taricone
Pietro Taricone was an Italian actor and participant of the reality show "Grande Fratello" (Big Brother), the Italian version of the American TV show. He was known for his love of sports, bodybuilding, and extreme sports, particularly martial arts, earning him the nickname "The Warrior" (O' guerriero).
Early Life and Education
Pietro Taricone, son of Francesco and Rita Taricone, was born on February 4, 1975 in Frosinone, Lazio, Italy. He spent his childhood in Caserta, Campania, where his family continues to reside. Pietro grew up alongside his brother Maurizio and sister Lella. After completing his bachelor's degree, Pietro began studying law but did not finish his education.
Reality TV and Acting Career
In 2000, after trying various professions, Pietro became one of the contestants on the first season of the show "Grande Fratello." Within three days, he entered into a romance with another contestant, Cristina Plevani, who eventually won the program. Although Taricone finished in third place, his appearance on the show gained him attention and he soon embarked on a career as a film and television actor.
Interestingly, after the success of "Grande Fratello," an Italian disposable diaper manufacturer approached Taricone to star in a series of commercials for their product, as they were in need of a macho image for their diaper advertisements. However, Taricone declined this offer.
Over the span of ten years, Taricone played eleven different roles in films and TV shows. During the filming of the military drama "Radio West" in 2003, Pietro met Polish model Kasia Smutniak, who later became an Italian actress. They began dating, and their daughter Sophie was born on September 4, 2004.
Tragic Accident and Death
In June 2010, Taricone and Smutniak decided to go skydiving in Terni, Umbria, along with a group of other athletes. Taricone was an experienced skydiver and had regularly engaged in the activity. However, during this jump, something unforeseen occurred. Either due to a sudden gust of wind or an incorrect maneuver, Taricone deployed his parachute only when he was already 100 meters above the ground. The parachute was unable to slow down his fall, resulting in a tragic impact with the ground.
As a result of the accident, Taricone suffered severe spinal and leg injuries, a serious head injury, multiple fractures, internal bleeding, and cardiac arrest. After a nine-hour surgical operation, he passed away on June 29, 2010, at the age of 35. Taricone's body was cremated, and his ashes were placed in the family tomb in Trasacco.
