Biography of Kathleen Flinn
Kathleen Flinn is an American journalist, restaurant critic, internet producer, and culinary writer. She gained fame after the release of her book "The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry" in October 2007 by Viking/Penguin. The book is not just a collection of recipes and descriptions of cooking processes, but rather an autobiographical novel or memoir combined with recipes. It provides readers with a comprehensive view of Flinn's journey through the famous Parisian culinary school, Le Cordon Bleu. In 2008, the book became a finalist for the prestigious Washington State Book Award.
In the same year, the television division of 20th Century Fox acquired the rights to produce a film based on the book. Flinn's second book, "The Kitchen Counter Cooking School," was published by Viking/Penguin in October 2011. It chronicles a year-long project that was inspired by a chance encounter with a woman loading her cart with frozen meals in a supermarket. Flinn used her culinary expertise to help nine novice cooks find their own culinary inspiration while cooking and shared her thoughts on the state of home cooking in general.
Flinn is also a member of the board of directors of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP). She maintains her own website, which offers culinary tours, recipe collections, a blog, online cooking classes, and her presence on Twitter. Kathleen is currently working on her next memoir collection, which includes real-life stories, as well as a novel based on her five years spent in London.

Kathleen Flinn was born on June 1, 1967, in Davison, Michigan. She met her future husband, often referred to as Mike in her book, while studying in Paris. Currently, she resides in Seattle with her husband Michael Klozar.
