Biography of Keith Flint

Keith Flint was a vocalist, dancer, and member of the British electronic group, The Prodigy. He first met DJ Liam Howlett in a rave club in the late 1980s, where he expressed admiration for Howlett's music. After requesting a cassette from Howlett and listening to it, Flint returned to Howlett with even more enthusiasm, insisting that Howlett should play his own tracks on stage while Flint and his friend, Leeroy Thornhill, could dance alongside. This led to the formation of the new collective, The Prodigy, in 1990.

Initially, Flint's role in the group was that of a dancer, but in 1996, he showcased his vocal abilities on the single "Firestarter." The accompanying music video introduced Flint's new image, which became The Prodigy's trademark. This trend continued on the next single, "Breathe," where he sang alongside Maxim Reality. In The Prodigy's subsequent album, "The Fat of the Land," Flint sang on several tracks, including "Breathe," "Serial Thrilla," "Firestarter," and a cover of L7's "Fuel My Fire." The success of the album, which became the band's most successful, made Flint essentially the face of The Prodigy.

The following work, "Baby's Got a Temper," released in 2002, heavily influenced by Flint's punk style, although Howlett later described the song as atypical for the group. During this period, disagreements arose between Flint and Howlett, possibly leading to Flint's absence as a vocalist on the next album, "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned," although he did sing on "Hotride (El Batori Mix)" from the single "Hotride."

In The Prodigy's penultimate album, "Invaders Must Die," released on February 23, 2009, Flint once again participated in the recording of several tracks, including "Omen," "Colours," "Take Me to the Hospital," "Run with the Wolves," and "World's On Fire." Flint also experimented with several solo and side projects, including groups such as "FLINT" and "Clever Brains Fryin'." During this time, Flint only managed to release one commercial single, "AIM 4," with his group "FLINT." The release of the debut album, "Device #1," by the group was canceled before the scheduled release date. However, rare promotional copies of the album exist, although they do not include all the songs planned for "Device #1."

Keith Flint was found dead on the morning of March 4th in his home in Dunmow, Essex. Preliminary investigations by the police did not indicate any signs of foul play. According to an official statement on the band's Instagram page, the musician took his own life.
