Early Life and Career

After graduating from the University of Leeds in 1994, where he studied geology, Kenton became deeply interested in rock climbing and began actively pursuing mountaineering in Sheffield. In 1996, Kenton suffered severe injuries to his legs and heels after falling from a cliff. However, his recovery was swift and complete, leading doctors to recognize his determination and optimism towards his future, which he could not envision without mountaineering. Shortly after, Kenton joined the British Mountain Guides Association.

Kenton Cool holds the record for the most ascents of Everest by a British mountaineer. In 2008, he gained widespread attention when he completed a ski descent from the peak of Cho Oyu in Nepal, the 6th highest mountain in the world. He repeated this feat in 2010 on Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world. Descending from the slopes of 8,000-meter peaks on skis is a remarkable accomplishment achieved by only a few individuals worldwide.
