Early Life and Education

With an impressive IQ of 150, Abdullah joined the high-IQ society Mensa International, but left after finding it underwhelming. Despite her degree, her career path would take a different turn.

Literary Debut and Controversial Reception

In 2006, Abdullah published her debut novel, "Life, Love, and Assimilation." The book drew mixed reactions, with some comparing it to Monica Ali's "Brick Lane" and others criticizing its explicit content. Notably, members of the Bangladeshi community and even Abdullah's own family voiced their disapproval.

Journalistic and Commentary Roles

In 2007, Abdullah became a columnist for "Asian Woman" magazine. A year later, she began work on her second novel, the psychological thriller "Child's Play," which was released in 2009 to more favorable reviews.

Abdullah also wrote articles for "The Guardian" and interviewed prominent South Asian figures, including Jay Sean, Meera Syal, Nitin Sawhney, and Anoushka Shankar. She appeared as a guest on BBC Radio 2's "Jeremy Vine Show" and BBC Asian Network's DJ Nihal show.

Teaching and Third Book

Abdullah currently teaches in Tower Hamlets while working on her third book.

Controversial Tweets

On July 1, 2011, Abdullah made headlines with controversial tweets expressing indifference towards the deaths of three British students in a Thailand car crash. Her comments drew widespread criticism, prompting her to apologize and delete the tweets.
