South Korean Professional Boxer

Hwang Kyun-subis a South Korean professional boxer who competes in the minimumweight division. He is currently the WBA minimumweight world champion.

Early Life and Career

Hwang was born in Seoul, South Korea, on January 22, 1990. He began boxing at a young age and had a successful amateur career, winning numerous national and international titles.

Professional Debut

Hwang turned professional in 2010 and quickly established himself as one of the top contenders in the minimumweight division. He won his first 12 professional fights by decision.

WBA World Championship

In 2019, Hwang fought for the vacant WBA minimumweight world title against Japanese boxer Hiroto Kyoguchi. Hwang won the fight by unanimous decision and became the WBA world champion.

Title Defenses

Hwang has successfully defended his WBA world title three times. He defeated Japanese boxer Kenshiro Teraji in 2020, Thai boxer Petchmanee Kokietgym in 2021, and Japanese boxer Yokota Yuya in 2022.
