Biography of Kim Gordon
Kim Gordon, a bass guitarist and member of the band Sonic Youth, was born in Southern California in 1953. Her father, a sociology professor, taught at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1980, after graduating from Otis College of Art and Design, Gordon moved to New York.
Formation of Sonic Youth
In 1981, Gordon formed the band Sonic Youth with several friends, including Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo. She played bass guitar in the band, which quickly gained popularity in the alternative music scene. Alongside her work in Sonic Youth, Kim also led the band Free Kitten.
Harry Crews and Other Projects
In 1989, Kim Gordon joined forces with Sadie May and Lydia Lunch to form a new band called Harry Crews. They released an album titled "Naked in Garden Hill." Additionally, Gordon has made a name for herself as an actress. She recently appeared in the documentary film "The Last Days," which focused on her close friend Kurt Cobain. As his only close friend to publicly suggest foul play in his death, she expressed the belief that he was murdered.
Personal Life
In 1984, Kim married Thurston Moore, a fellow member of Sonic Youth. They welcomed their daughter Coco Hayley Gordon Moore ten years later. Kim Gordon's influence was also recognized by the band Rapeman, who dedicated a track titled "Kim Gordon's Panties" to her on their album "Two Nuns and a Pack Mule."
