Biography of Kim Moon MacLagan
Kim Moon MacLagan, an English model, gained fame in the 1960s as a fashion model. Later, she pursued a career as a cosmetologist. Born Maris Elizabeth Patricia Kerrigan on December 30, 1948, in Leicester, England, she grew up in Malaysia on her family's rubber plantations and had the opportunity to visit several African countries. After her family relocated to London, her modeling career took off and she changed her name to the more glamorous Kim Kerrigan.
Marriage to Keith Moon
It was at a concert in Bournemouth that Kim met Keith Moon, the drummer of the rock band 'The Who'. They got married in March 1966 after Kim became pregnant. Their daughter, Amanda Jane (Mandy), was born four months later. However, their marriage was tumultuous, with Moon often mistreating Kim and forcing her to quit her modeling career. He was physically abusive and broke her nose three times, throwing whatever he could find at her. There are reports that he even chased her around their house in the countryside with a shotgun, as if it were a game. This behavior aligned with Moon's reputation for destroying homes, hotel rooms, and even throwing furniture out of his own house windows. Despite the influence of alcohol and drugs, Moon's eccentricity was partly an act for his fans.
Life after Keith Moon
Kim left Keith in 1973, tired of the abusive relationship. She took custody of their daughter and moved in with Ian McLagan, the keyboardist of the rock band 'Faces', with whom she had been having a relationship. Moon, who was involved with Swedish model Annette Walter-Lax since 1974, officially divorced Kim in 1975. She married McLagan on October 9, 1978, a month before Moon's untimely death.
In 1994, Kim and Ian relocated to Texas. She worked for several years at a spa resort on Lake Austin before opening her own skincare salon. Tragically, Kim MacLagan passed away at the age of 57 on August 2, 2006, due to a car accident involving a collision with a truck.
