Early Life and Career
Kjell Inge Røkke, the founder of Aker Kvaerner ASA, began his career at the age of 18. Despite having no formal education, he embarked on a career in fishing and spent several years working on fishing trawlers in Alaska.

In the early 1990s, Røkke returned to Norway and established himself as an entrepreneur by acquiring and restructuring businesses. This culminated in the formation of Aker Kvaerner ASA in 2002, through the merger of Aker Maritime and Kvaerner Oil & Gas.
