Early Life and Club Career

Birth and Origins:

Hailing from the Basque Country in Spain, Jesus Luis Alvarez de Eulate was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz on September 4, 1970. Known by his Basque nickname "Koldo," he began his football journey at Aurreora Vitoria in 1989.

Move to Atletico Madrid and Loan to Toledo:

At 19, Koldo joined Atletico Madrid, where he served as a backup goalkeeper. Although he won the Copa del Rey with the team in 1991, he did not make an appearance in that match. Subsequently, he moved to Toledo in the Spanish third division.

Success with Salamanca and Transition to FC Andorra:

In the 1993/94 season, Koldo joined Salamanca and won the Segunda Division B, earning promotion to the Spanish Second Division. In 1994, he moved to FC Andorra, the top team in the Principality of Andorra. Under the tutelage of his former Aurreora coach, Peyo Bengeoechea, he became a key figure for the club.

International Career

Debut for Andorra:

The Andorran national team was formed in 1996, and Koldo was invited to join shortly after. After marrying an Andorran citizen, he gained citizenship and the opportunity to represent the country. He made his international debut against Brazil on June 3, 1998.

Record-Breaking Appearances:

Over 11 years, Koldo became a legend for Andorra, making 78 appearances. Despite the team's struggles, he conceded 209 goals, one of the highest totals in European football history. Coincidentally, he also captained the team for his final match against England in 2009.

Recognition and Legacy:

Koldo was named Andorra's Player of the Year for the Past 50 Years in 2003. His exceptional performances and unwavering commitment to the national team made him a cornerstone in Andorran football.

Coaching Career

Youth and U-21 Teams:

After retiring as a player, Koldo transitioned into coaching. He led Andorra's U-19 team in 2007 and the U-21 team in 2009.

National Team Coach:

In February 2010, Koldo took the reins of the Andorran national team as one of the youngest coaches in UEFA. He guided the team in the Euro 2012 and 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns.

Personal Life

Marriage and Family:

While playing for FC Andorra, Koldo met Patricia Molne, a renowned television presenter. They married and had two children together, a son named Iker and a daughter named Naia.

Professional Career Outside Football:

Koldo works as a banker. He previously worked in the insurance industry but transitioned to banking due to his wife's family connections.
