The Birth of Kraevyody
In the culinary halls of a technical college, a musical alliance was forged between students Mikhail Grachev and Vladimir Sorokin. Soon, drummer Sergei Pisarev joined their ranks, and the trio began penning songs with infectious energy.
"Homegrown" Rock
As true rockers, Kraevyody took their act to the intimate settings of friends' apartments. Their performances resonated with audiences, earning them rave reviews and fueling their desire to capture their sound on tape.
First Album and Stylistic Explorations
With confidence soaring, Kraevyody embarked on their maiden recording project, resulting in a magnetic album that still evokes a smile today. Their music defied easy categorization, blending styles with reckless abandon while maintaining a distinctive signature.
Debut Performance and Setback
In December 1995, the electrifying Kraevyody made their live debut at their alma mater. The band's energy carried them through countless gigs at local venues. However, in 1997, they parted ways with Sorokin, forcing them to regroup.
Studio Sessions and a Return
After a brief hiatus, Kraevyody reunited with a new guitarist and recorded a demo album at GAM Studios. One of their tracks graced the compilation album "Shumy 2."
Daring Rescue and the Power of Chemistry
On a fateful concert night, fate played its hand when the guitarist failed to appear. In a moment of crisis, Kraevyody reached out to their former comrade Sorokin, who valiantly rescued the situation despite the lack of rehearsal. The chemistry between the original lineup was undeniable.
Chance Encounter and a New Dawn
In 2001, a humble demo cassette found its way into the hands of Andrey Kucherenko, a sound engineer at SOYUZ Studio. Through him, the tape reached the ears of producer Nikolai Chigiry. The result was the recording of four songs, two of which received overwhelming support on the radio program "Ono Vam Nado." This propelled the band into a whirlwind of studio sessions, rehearsals, and the consolidation of their final lineup.
