Biography of Kristen Gilbert

Kristen Gilbert, an American serial killer, was born in 1967 and grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts. From a young age, she displayed high intellectual abilities and came from a stable family background with a younger sister. However, she developed a habit of lying and exhibited unpredictable behavior, which led to her friends and acquaintances distancing themselves from her.

At the age of 16, Kristen graduated from high school and enrolled in Greenfield Community College, where she obtained a nursing certificate in 1988. In the same year, she married Glenn Gilbert, taking his surname. They had two children together, but their marriage began to deteriorate due to Kristen's friendship with James Perrault, a police officer who worked in the medical center where she was employed.

Kristen started working as a nurse at the VAMC in Northampton in 1990, which primarily served elderly patients and veterans. Despite frequent deaths occurring during her shifts, Kristen was well-liked by both patients and colleagues. She was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and ability to balance her work and personal life.

Her colleagues jokingly referred to her as the "Angel of Death" due to the high number of patient deaths that occurred under her care. In 1996, three of her colleagues insisted on an official investigation as the number of deaths significantly increased. The subsequent police investigation revealed shocking statistics, suggesting that Kristen was responsible for approximately 80 or more patient deaths and created over 300 life-threatening situations.

In 2001, Kristen Gilbert was convicted in federal court and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for 20 years. She was transferred from the Framingham federal prison to the Fort Worth prison in Texas, where she remains incarcerated.
