Josip Elez: Croatian Defender

Josip Elez began his football journey at the local club "Fontana" before honing his skills at "Jadran" in Poreč. In 1999, he made the move to "Varteks."

Varteks and Loan

From 2001 to 2002, Elez spent a season on loan at "Pomorac." Upon his return, he became a regular for "Varteks" in the Croatian Championship from 2004 to 2007. During this period, he featured in 62 matches, netting six goals.

Transfer to Germany

In the summer of 2007, Elez sought a new challenge and made the switch to the German club "Energie." He signed a contract that ran until 2010, making his Bundesliga debut on November 2, 2007, in a 1-0 loss to Schalke 04. However, his appearances for the club were limited to just four.

Danish Adventure

In June 2008, Elez moved to Denmark to join "Midtjylland." This marked a change of scenery for the defender, who had previously spent his entire career in Croatian and German football.

International Career
