Early Life

Kirsty Hume, a Scottish model, was born on September 4, 1976, in Ayrshire, Scotland. When Kirsty was 16 years old, her mother passed away, and the responsibility of raising her fell on her grandmother. Kirsty credits her grandmother's care and support for allowing her to pursue a modeling career.

A couple of years later, Kirsty signed a contract with a modeling agency in Glasgow. After turning 18, she moved to the United States, where her swift modeling career began. At the age of 19, Kirsty gained recognition and demand in the industry with the help of renowned photographer Patrick Demarchelier. She gradually gained access to prestigious modeling agencies and participated in major shows for popular brands and designers.

In 1996, Kirsty's breakthrough year, she appeared in photoshoots for renowned fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar. Additionally, she starred in Chanel advertisements and received an invitation to walk in Gucci's autumn and winter collections in Milan. The following year, Kirsty Hume married British musician Donovan Leitch Jr., the son of American actor Donovan Leitch. The wedding took place on the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond. The couple has a daughter named Violet. Kirsty and Donovan were not fond of the bustling city life, so they relocated to Woodstock, a small town at the foot of the Catskill Mountains in New York state.

Throughout her modeling career, she collaborated with prestigious modeling agencies such as Premier Model Management, Viva Models, and IMG Models. Despite her success in the modeling industry, Kirsty always desired more. Since childhood, she had a passion for art and painting. At the age of 23, she made a splash in the modeling world by announcing her plans to retire from modeling and continue her education at an art school in New York. From then on, Kirsty minimized her runway activities to focus on opening her own art gallery and cosmetics store.
