Born in Poland, Wengler's musical journey began at the Warsaw Music Academy, where he studied under the tutelage of the legendary Zenon Brzewski. He further honed his skills in Freiburg with Wolfgang Marschner and later in London with the renowned Ifra Niaman. Wengler's exceptional talent was recognized early on, as he won the prestigious International Szymanowski Competition in Warsaw in 1977.
Repertoire and Artistic Collaborations
Wengler's repertoire showcases a deep affinity for 20th-century music. He has championed works by Polish composers such as Witold Lutosławski and Krzysztof Penderecki, as well as international masters like Luigi Nono, György Ligeti, Arvo Pärt, and Alfred Schnittke. In addition to his solo performances, Wengler is also a sought-after chamber musician. Notably, he co-founded the New Warsaw Piano Quintet, a renowned ensemble renowned for its dynamic interpretations.

He has served as a professor at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, nurturing generations of young violinists.
