Early Career and ITF Success
Květa Hrdličková, a Czech professional tennis player, made her debut in 1991 at the ITF tournament in Karlovy Vary. In 1992, she triumphed at ITF tournaments in Lisse (singles) and Spezia (doubles).

WTA Breakthrough
Hrdličková joined the WTA Tour in 1993 while continuing to excel in ITF events, accumulating 18 titles in singles and doubles. Her breakthrough WTA victories came in 1998: singles in Makarska and doubles in Sopot with compatriot Vilдова. She cracked the top 100 and later the top 50 in 1999.

Injury and Comeback
In 2002, Hrdličková underwent two unsuccessful surgeries on her left knee, sidelining her for the entire 2003 season. During this hiatus, she married her coach, Torsten Peške, and resumed playing in 2004 under her husband's surname.
Doubles Dominance
In 2005, Peške achieved a career-high singles ranking of 26 and partnered with Francesca Schiavone, winning three tournaments, including the prestigious Moscow Premier event. She finished the year with two victories over top-ten players.
Grand Slam Finals and Career Peaks
Peške shifted her focus exclusively to doubles in 2007 and teamed up with Rennae Stubbs. They reached the US Open semifinals and won four of seven finals from 2007 to 2008. As a result, Peške qualified for the WTA Tour Finals for three consecutive years (2006-2008), reaching the final in 2008 and ascending to as high as number three in the doubles rankings.
Continued Success and Injury
In 2009, Lisa Raymond became Peške's new partner. Despite reaching four finals, they failed to secure a title, preventing Peške from a fourth consecutive WTA Tour Finals appearance. In the latter half of the year, she suffered a season-ending injury after the Roland Garros tournament.
Late Career Highlights and Retirement
Peške partnered with Katarina Srebotnik in 2010, reaching three finals and winning one. She reached the French Open doubles final, her first Grand Slam final, and repeated the feat in mixed doubles with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi at the US Open. Peške retired from professional tennis in 2016, leaving a legacy of 16 WTA titles and two Grand Slam finals in doubles.
