Biography of La La Vazquez

La La Vazquez, an American television host, DJ, and MTV VJ, was born on June 25, 1979, in Brooklyn, New York, USA. She comes from a Puerto Rican background, with both of her parents being descendants of Puerto Rican immigrants who were born and raised in New York, known as Nuyoricans. Currently, her parents are divorced. La La is the eldest child in her family, and she also has a younger brother named Christopher and two younger sisters, Aviana and Solana. As a child, La La developed many talents, including dancing, singing, and acting, but her main passion was music. While still in high school, Vazquez got a job in Atlanta, working as a program assistant at radio station "WHAT". After a while, even before finishing school, she had her first big breakthrough – a radio show called "Future Flavas" with Ludacris (then known as Chris Lova Lova). After working on the radio for several years, La La decided to continue her education and enrolled in college. She moved to Washington, D.C., and joined Howard University, majoring in communications. She balanced her job with her studies, working as a DJ on her university's radio station. In 1999, La La moved to Los Angeles, California, and started working at radio station "KKBT". There, she caught the attention of MTV and was invited to audition, although she was offered the job only a year later. She became a co-host on MTV shows "Direct Effect" and "Total Request Live". She also hosted guests in the studio throughout all seasons of VH1's show "Flavor of Love", hosted both seasons of "I Love New York", the first season of "Real Chance of Love", the first season of "Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School", and "For the Love of Ray J". Additionally, she hosted "High School Stories" on MTV. Among her acting roles, she first gained notice in the TV series "Sex and the City", playing a reporter from MTV in an episodic role. Vazquez made her big screen debut in the 2001 film "Two Can Play That Game" as a DJ. In 2002, she appeared as Pam Jackson in the film "Urban Massacre". In 2003, she played herself in the film "Monster Island", and the following year, she portrayed "La La Vazquez” in the TV movie "You Got Served". In 2006, La La voiced a character in the animated short film "Da Jammies", and in 2007, she appeared in the series "I Love New York". Currently, La La Vazquez continues to collaborate with MTV and VH1, hosting the show "Charm School". Since Christmas 2004, La La has been in a relationship with basketball star Carmelo Anthony, and they are currently engaged but have not set a wedding date yet. In 2007, the couple welcomed their son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony.
