Born in Naaldwijk, South Holland, Lara's love for skating ignited at the tender age of six. She honed her skills under the tutelage of Jeroen Otter at the HardrijVereniging Den Haag-Westland club.
International Success
Lara's talent shone brightly on the international stage. In 2013, she captured a bronze medal in the 3000m relay at the European Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Malmö, Sweden. Her accolades continued to grow with a silver medal in the same event at the 2015 European Championships in Dordrecht, Netherlands.
Injury Woes
Despite her impressive achievements, Lara faced setbacks due to injuries. In 2014, she suffered a knee injury, followed by a shoulder dislocation in 2017.
